Welcome to our new Who Cork The Dance website. The importance of sound systems in the history of reggae music cannot be underestimated and we are committed to documenting the history and preserving the recordings of the many legendary sounds and entertainers. The original WCTD blogspot had over 120,000 visits in less than 2 years and this has encouraged us to keep going with this enormous project and we hope this website will enable us to continue the focus on a much neglected era of Jamaican music, the good old Dancehall style.

Do you remember back in the day, all those singers and deejays “Who Cork The Dance”, because we do!!

Jayman & Andrew would like to thank (in no particular order)

***IMPORTANT NOTICE***

Greetings one and all...

By now you will all be aware of the current situation with the Megaupload site being shut down.

We recently, with help from some of you, paid for lifetime membership, which now looks like it was the wrong thing to do!

We thought this would mean that the WCTD project could remain alive forever so that future generations of sound system fans could maybe learn something about where it all started, and how it progressed over the years.

As you know most of our tapes were up on Megaupload so we are facing a huge amount of work replacing all the dead links.

We are going to wait and see what happens over the next week before deciding our next move, as there are all sorts of rumours flying around right now!!

For those that donated we thank you for your help and just want you to know we will be sorting things out and there will be lots more classic sound system sessions to come.

Please bear with us right now as normal service will be resumed asap..

Many thanks

Jayman & Andrew

PEACE
